  • :x Yeh same goes for me. That stupid sound is driving me crazy. Pop-up blocker makes a sound whether it is disabled or not. SP2 IE6
  • I was going absolutely CRAZY since installing service pack two with microsoft's pop up blocker. Even when I had turned it off, I was still hearing that INCREDIBLY ANNOYING NOISE. I finally figured it out myself. The problem was that I also had the Google pop up blocker. Even though I had turned the sound off on it, I had only disabled the microsoft popup blocker in IE. You need to turn on the IE popup blocker, then go to popup blocker settings and turn off the sound. Unless you do this, even though you have the sound off, it will make a sound every time your google pop up blocker blocks a pop up.
  • I also have xp pro with sp2 - on a similar note, im having difficulty turning off the "Start Navigation" click which sounds every time you click on a link in IE. I select "none" for "Start Navigation" click apply, ok, but whether i save the scheme or not, xp always puts the click back. I just cant get rid of it!
