Let's see...you wrote this in Jan. of 2008. I'm guessing that your thermometer does not work anymore.
I changed the batteries once on mine, sent it back when it broke, got a new one, had that work for a while (though it was NOT visible at night at all), and when that one broke I gave up.
I'm looking for a regular mercury one now.
