You should repair your system after removing spyware, for spyware may mess up your registry or something.

Another fix was to go to the Internet Properties and disable the proxy setting that got enabled with the Malware (Internet options/Lan Settings/Use a proxy server...127.0.0.1) As I just happen to see Dion mentioned.......

To go along with you said up there look for a proxy reg key in hijack this. I was working on a system and completely overlooked that key twice before I saw it.

I really appreciate you posting the link to download the fix. After I removed spyware off my computer, I could not reach the site for my college, this was imperative since I take online classes through the college!!
