  • To do this you do not require the IIS to be installed. Shoutccast comes with it's own web interface running on the port you specify in the config file. In this case "8080".

If you don't believe me, try it without the IIS installed and see for yourself.
  • this is true. it comes with its own webserver built in. and the default port now is 8000
  • doh.. your right.. i had IIS going cuz i used a few winamp plugins to put what i was playing on my website.. hehe..

    thanks for the note!
  • Seamonkey...was wondering what you were using the IIS for? I've about had it with an Icecast server I'm building and move to Shoutcast...Shoutcast can't be any worse to set up than IceCast...that's for sure! I'm building it on a Win2K Server with Compaq hardware. Hopefully it works for the Radio Station I'm building...but time will tell. Hope to have it up tonight.

Just was wondering what the IIS was for so I don't go installing it if I don't need it...

    Tanis
  • The big question is, can it be run without logging into a Windows session? I.e. as a background service?
