  • Considering how many of us have extra NICs lying around, this is a great idea.

Nice post. I have posted a link to this recipe from our other infamous rapidshare post:

    http://www.tech-recipes.com/internet_tips869.html

Once again, welcome to the site.
  • Welcome!

Are you sure this works? I think they go by external ip,cookies, and maybe other things but I don't think they care about your internal address or MAC. It doesn't work for me when I tried. I'm not on a network anymore so I couldn't change my internal ip and changing my MAC doesn't work because of my ISP. Also in a Virtual machine where you have a different internal ip and MAC,no history and no cookies it still didn't work.

Nice post by the way, very interesting.
  • If you network contains a router, then the world see the router's IP as your IP. Changing your local IP or MAC address doesn't change anything that rapidshare cares about.

To work, this would need this type of setup:

    world -> modem -> computer
  • ahh ok. I'm an idiot. Nevermind I was missing the hole restart the modem so you get a different external address. very cool. Sorry bout that
  • :)

    thanks for the hints, guys!
  • What is NIC and what is Mac is it an apple macintosh. Can someone give me a simplified version of how to do this like how do you restart modem, bridge modem etc
  • Welcome Hova!

MAC(Media Access Control) is a hardware address to identify a particular node(adapter) on a network. (Ex. 00-AA-00-9E-81-9E) The first 3 bytes(00-AA-00) are the manufactures ID and the last 3 are a unique serial.

To find your MAC on MacOSX check this url for a graphical explanation.

A NIC(Network Interface Card) is used for communicating over a network.

To reset your modem, you can usually unplug it for a couple of seconds or hold in the reset button. To bridge you must have two NICs. In this case you would bridge both NICs together. For a NT and Mac tutorial on this go here...

    http://wiki.pearpc.net/index.php/Bridging_for_Windows_XP/Vista

Googling will reveal so much more info on this stuff.

    NIC:

  • thanks i think i'll try the second one it seems much easier
  • I have been messing around with the way I have done this work around since I posted this topic. Here is what I do.

I download one file using one NIC.
Change to another NIC and download another file.
Create a bridge between the two NICs and download another file.
Using a MAC spoofing app such as SMAC, cracked and MacMakeUp to generate MAC address, change the MAC address for the NICs. SMAC is pretty easy to use. Once you figure out the MAC format for your NICs, you will not need MacMakeUp any longer. MacMakeUp will change the make like SMAC, however I have not tried to spoof with it, I just used it to generate MAC address for my particular NICs. Changing the MACs is as easy as changing one letter or number. It will take a little getting use to but once you figure out the routine, its quick.

Make sure you unplug your modem when changing NICs so your ISP will issue a new IP. I write down the IP address so I can make sure you are working with a new IP address.

Maybe someday someone will get bored and write a little app that will automatically change a MAC and restart your modem along with a download accelerator so you can just plug in the all the URLs and just sit back and let it run. Sounds simple enough.

As for using a router, I have not tried it but think that your can spoof the MAC address of the router as well.

You can get a cracked version of SMAC from Shareaza. Shareaza is the only P2P that I have found that works decent and does not have spyware, toolbars or other crap attached.
  • can't you just use websites like annonymouse.org or other similar websites to bypass the 60 minutes wait times?
  • Sure you can, problem with that is you are going to get a proxy server that someone else has already used to d/l with. Besides, proxies are extremely slow. You might get a server in the UK or Africa.
  • '8O'
Alrigit alright lets start from basic

    1) First off the multiple NIC idea is too complex and does not make sense. I get it but like 1 in 100 will get that. Changing NIC only changes internal ip and rapidshare dosent give a dick about that!!:!:

    2) To bypass the 60 or 70 seconds wait >> no one gives a crap + plus that shit doesn't work anymore >> we want to bypass the friggin 70mins wait!!

    3) The MAC address thing though is kind of interesting but sucks dick if you have a router or static ip!! Whoever has Dynamic youre lucky >> all you gotta do is "flush dns" and clear cookies and youre good to go!!

    4) Everyone else WERE SCREWED!! >> not a bad idea though to BUY a premium account you cheap bastards - LOL (me included - thats y im here)!!

    5) Guys just give it up its worthless and there is no bypassing rapidshare but megaupload is bypassable so my advice to you guys is stop uploading on rapidshare and upload on MEGAUPLOAD because people who work there are dumb >> we can just bypass them with a proxy but you get GAY, Terrible GAY speeds!! PERIOD

    CASE CLOSED
CLOSE THIS GOD DAMN TOPIC - LOL 8) 8O 8O
  • I agree that if you use the service a lot you should pay for it; however, the techrx recipes regarding this topic work well. Changing IP, NIC/MAC tricks -- all of these work well for some people.

Another words, quit whining... or post a better hack.

    ;)
  • What exactly does rapid share care about?, for a service that it claims so many people use i have never had any joy with it. I've also tried it on 2 friends computers, my mothers and the one at work, i just wish people that can download/upload files to it would choice a different one that the rest of us can use.. yes im whining but i feel i have good reason with the amount of time i've spent mucking about. USE SOMETHING ELSE DAMNIT, IT SUXS, and if it calls me a bot one more time im going to SCCRRREEEEAAAAMMMM.
  • hello every one , who can be kind to explaine me how to change ip i am with optimom online modem when i reset the modem the ip stays the same i tired ipconfig/ release didnt work if any one has information about this issue or a web site to explaine please e mail me i am trying to learn and will teach ass well thank you

To escape the 70/80 min download limit wait:

if you're using dialup/ADSL (dynamic IP):
    1. go to start -> run -> type in "cmd.exe" without the quotation marks.
    2. type in the following:
    3. ipconfig/flushdns (Flushes DNS cache)
    4. ipconfig/release (Takes away previous IP address)
    5. ipconfig/renew (Asks your ISP for a new IP address)
Then go to Rapidshare and download again.

if you're using cable or anything else (static IP):
    1. Download MAC MakeUp (SMAC is only a trial demo)

    <a href="http://www.tucows.com/preview/347671http://www.tucows.com/preview/347671</a
    >
    2.Extract the ZIP file.
    3.Run MacMakeUp.exe
4.NB: Please write down your old MAC Address. A MAC Address is the physical address of your computer, the IP is a virtual address. The IP can change at anytime, the MAC is the one that is usually pre-installed on your cable modem etc. You can find your MAC underneath your modem or in the notes. If you can't, then go to Control Panel -> Network Connections -> Find the Network Connection that connects you to the internet -> Right-click it and select Status. -> Go to the tab named "Support", then "Details". The MAC Address is the one labelled "Physical Address" (Windows XP Pro used in testing).
5.Select the Adapter (the one that you use to connect to the internet). For me, it was Cable Modem #2. For you, it's obviously different.
6.Type in any 12 digit number/number-letter combination or select any manufacturer. If you have problems, look for your modem manufacturer; for the large ones there are several MACs available for use.
    7. Click "Change".
    8. Disconnect your modem and reconnect. Your ISP will give you a new IP address, even though it is Static IP. The reason for that is because your ISP thinks it is another computer, since it has a different MAC Address (Physical Address).
    9. Download from Rapidshare!

Tested with Windows XP Pro from Australia with a cable modem.
  • The keypoint RS look for is Per IP base, your External IP to internet will be lock for waiting by RS.

As from the Post, you keep changing your ISP IP, that's the trick done that.
  • thanks
  • frechet algebra
  • Oh, thanx it really work.
  • bravoooo
  • Not Good Hint
  • thank you for this
  • thank u baby :)
