As of 8/11 they have 1TB 2.5" 9.5mm drives that physically fit/format/work just fine. Just expect spending 40-50 hours backing up/restoring that much (upgraded from 750gb to 1 TB). Since the ps3 uses UFS2 in theory it can use a billion TB hdd (enough to copy the internet a few dozen times), tho it will be obsolete by the time a 2.5" that size hits the market. Plus I wouldn't want to wait 300 million years to back that up.

Re: PS3 – Upgrade Harddrive Notes and Tips

ok backed up my data did a system update and now wont let me restore my back up

Re: PS3 – Upgrade Harddrive Notes and Tips

actually this is wrong, it used SATA-II hard drives up to 500gb, not SATA150 up to 250gb

Re: PS3 – Upgrade Harddrive Notes and Tips

actually i put my lap top hard drive in the ps3 and now i have 250Gb space on my ps3 :D

Re: PS3 – Upgrade Harddrive Notes and Tips

I just noticed at the top of this recipe that you can use a 500GB external HDD. Could you use it to catalog upconverted DVDs on and then play whenever ,like you do on the PSPs harddrive.Thanx Bryan

Re: PS3 – Upgrade Harddrive Notes and Tips

cant use 320Gb?? rubbish.
