Unfortunately this did not work for me... However, it did work when I applied Preset 8, although I was not able to adjust the % of transparency...

What if I'm using Microsoft Power Point 2003? Is there a way to make a picture that is used as the background, transparent?

I must be missing something... After inserting a picture file, the "Format Shape" command does not appear as a choice when working with a JPG or enhanced meta file image...
