I found a program using the Virtual CD-RW method to convert protected music to unprotected formats on www.download.com . The program name is NoteBurner Audio Converter (http://www.noteburner.com). It worked perfectly on my computer. I cannot tell any difference between the original and converted music in terms of the music quality.

i just read through the recent added recipe for removing DRM on the previous page, so thought i'd spread the word even more for tunebite. yeah, you gotta pay for it, but its cheap. it records 4x faster than all these real-time methods and it all stays digital so no loss of quality. and it automatically titles each song and puts them in artist/album folders or however you want them sorted by id tag. that feature beats any other way of doing it.

the audio out to audio in sounds similar to what i was doing for a couple months. i have a hi-md minidisc recorder, so i'd play the drm files on the computer and run a line to my minidisc. the minidisc player automatically breaks the songs when there is a gap so you don't need to divide them. then your music is ready to listen to on the go. or if you want mp3 you can upload the recording to the computer and convert to mp3. i'm sure if you have a hi-md you know this already, though.
similar process can be done with many mp3 players these days, and they'll record straight to mp3 so you're all set. only probably is you're recording through line in which is analog so the sound can potentially degrade, but its really not noticable. ok, this is long. :wink:

tunebite is great. $17 for tunebite, $5 for yahoo unlimited,etc = all the music you can find and want to do with as you want. definitely worth it and recommended.

Having been one to get burned(pardon the pun) by MusicMatch v10 screwing my DRM files, and having alot of WMA proctected files, running tunebites on a computer other than the one you are having license rights problems on, worked wonderfully for me. Able to fairly quickly re-record my DRM protected .WMA files, and can one again have the ability to listen to all the music I paid for thru MusicMatch.

What MusicMatch truly needs is a way for a PC to re-build the Documents and Settings/AllUsers/DRM files on the <font color="red"></font>Affected<font color="#444444"></font>PC. After all we already paid for the WMA content, and should be able to run on PCs that once were activated to MusicMatch license retrieval! 8O

unfortunately I didn't know about the free way to get past the DRM protection, already payed for my Tunebite copy, but I am pleased with this piece of software.
Anyway, regarding the loss of 1-2 seconds of the song, I downloaded the latest version and it works just great, no missing parts. Maybe this helps the guys who already bought this software 8O

I downlaoded TuneBite and obtained a key from... anyways... It works fine except for some songs cut in a little late because it didn't start recording until the song had played for a second or two.

I found a workaround for the DRM technology.....

What you need is the program Creative MediaSource...... within this program is a really useful recording tool which allows you to encode MP3's according to "What U Hear" through the soundcard. I assume its used for recording mixes with a number of inputs. You load the downloaded WMA files of a certain Album into the play list and hit record. It makes a big mp3 of the entire Album which can easily be cut up.

I just downloaded 600+ songs last night and already have about 100 of those now in mp3.
The only problem is time, as you have to encode in realtime.

Anyway, another trick your visitors might be able to use.

if you want the current software i'm using right now, email me at ... <font color="red"><clip></font>just finished converting or unprotecting 200 wma files in 1 hour, no realtime recording and i guarantee you all the files i'm converted are drm protected and got them from napster...

i wasn't going to put it up but i was thinking about it and couldn't figure out how they could block it so figured why not let the world have their music. :)

That's the trick. You can't.

i did the music stacker thing and it sucks my left nut.
the volume is like less than half of what it should be. and i dont really want to make a 128bit file 320. that is a wate of space.

i had a similar problem, but when i played the converted mp3 in real player it fixed the time problem.

I've been using Tunebite and it is working great except that a lot of the songs I have converted show the incorrect length of the song. Some of them show up as having a 30:00 or so time for a 4:00 song. When playing the song it plays the normal length then goes to the next song so I tried editing the start stop time on itunes but then it cut the song off for some reason. Has anyone had this problem?
