Windows 7: How to Prevent the Mouse from Waking your PC
tried working with Microsoft engineer for three days and we could not get
IE8 cancelled.
Sorry I dont have better news for you.
NJA
It will then be listed and you can remove it.
i hope good luck for you & thank you agine
1) Go to Programs and Features
2) On the left hand side, look under Tasks > Click "View Installed Updates"
3) When it loads all of the updates > Look for "Windows Internet Explorer 8 beta"
2. On both Vista and XP, make sure you are looking for "Windows Internet Explorer 8" in the list of updates.
Then if it's really not listed, you can use a command line to uninstall (different commands for Vista vs XP). Step-by-step instructions are here:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/957700
After having rebooted I found IE8 again and... surprise: there's no more an uninstall option under control panel. No way to get back to IE7... and I need it at work!
Any Answers?
please help....someone
Im now using firefox...and i have winxp pro sp3
Why do so many of you people asking for help, get so P.O.'d at the very people that are politely trying to help you? There are any number of reasons for similar problems, and some solutions may not work for everybody. There are also lot5s of different places you can go to find other solutions that may help.
I, for one, found my solution here. Thanks to "IE8User" for pointing me toward the article.
Thanks to all that provide their advice.
Everybody else , just relax.
I have a better question. Why are so many people installing beta software on critical machines?
do u have any idea .
thanks
You find it under installed updates...
Can't uninstal,
Can't fnd install reference in add/remove prorams.
What are these M$ retards thinking anyway?
Example1: When several tabs open it does no allow you anymore to save all and reopen
Opera anyone? Hello!!
Go to: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/950249/
(To make things easier for you, I have copied the steps below):
To remove Windows XP SP3 from your computer, use method 2.
Method2: Use the hidden $NtServicePackUninstall$ folder.
Click Start, click Run, type this: c:\windows\$NtServicePackUninstall$\spuninst\spuninst.exe in the Open box, and then click OK.
When the Windows XP Service Pack 3 Removal Wizard starts, click Next.
Follow the instructions on the screen to remove Windows XP SP3.
After SP3 has been removed and your pc has re-started, you now need to remove IE8:-
Alternative steps for Windows XP or for Windows Server 2003:
To uninstall Internet Explorer 8, follow these steps:
Click Start, and then click Run.
In the Open box, type Cmd.exe, and then press ENTER.
Inside the Cmd.exe window, type in the following command: %windir%\ie8\spuninst\spuninst.exe
Press ENTER to uninstall Internet Explorer 8.
When the uninstall program is finished, restart your computer.
After you have restarted your computer, your previous IE have already been automatically rolled back in. To check your IE version simply open Internet Explorer, click Help and then About Internet Explorer.
Voila! It worked perfectly!
P/S. In case your previous IE was not rolled back in, simply install IE7 into your pc.
(Even including the idiot trolls who didnt bother to read the alternate instructions you provided for Vista.)
MS IE -> Windows IE -.- " making ie 8 look unable to install at all... -.-
I removed IE8 as you suggested sbove. It was removed successfully, and IE7 became the default browser. But now every time I start IE7 it takes me to the Customize Your Settings page at http://runonce.msn.com/runonce3.aspx. After I select my settings and click on 'save your settings, it says "Settings were not able to be saved successfully." On the status line at the bottom of the page, it says 'Done, but with erros on page.'
How do I stop this webpage from coming up. I used IE7 several years before I mistakenly updated to IE8.
I have been running Windows XP since before it was released to the public (new machine) and now am at SP3. I have already installed the MS updates for this month.
Thank you in adavnce for your help.
Bob
Sorry, I had to vent. Here is my real question:
Ummm like, ummm, how do I reset IE8 back to IE7; there's no button?
JUST JOKING HERE AND WANTED TO SAY THANK YOU FOR TAKING THE TIME TO PROVIDE A SOLUTION TO THE PROBLEM THAT I GOOGLED. I AM SORRY THAT YOU HAVE HAD TO KEEP UP THIS EFFORT FOR 6+MONTHS. As for those of you who might actually noticed that I have insulted the hell out of you, I will offer a little advice that I have found useful for me (XP service pack 3): add/remove programs through the control panel sucks and it lacks on my system until, well, I become hostile enough to lash out a forum posters, so I have downloaded a simple cleaner that zips through the uninstall process and then scans to clean all from one app. so I often don't even get prompted to reboot in order to remove the last lingering pieces of any program. I think that the real name is just CCleaner, it is free, and there are "settings" that allow you to do things like: show updates, hide windows components, view entire start up menu. Good luck.
Please remove this incorrect page.
remover ie8 no adicionar e remover programas ??? eu nunca teria pensado nisso!!
bando d otários!!
is a safe approach to utilize.
Microsoft's answer to the subject- http://support.microsoft.com/kb/957700
I have Windows XP, Firefox 2.0.0
What do I do?
Thanks!
control panel
add/remove
No option to remove or change IE8
Yes, it is strange.
How do i remove it?
Does anyone know what I'm talking about or has had the same problem?
Thanks, Sue
Things just started going wrong when I installed IE8 by accident. Painfully slow, no access to mail or e-banking, blank screen, absolute nightmare. Finally had enough after 3 system restores and discovered I'd lost my favourites AND the ability to add new ones.
I tried Graywolf's wise words, but couldn't make it happen (told me I'd lost a file called ieeula.chm. Whatever is going on?
By the way, Microsoft had somehow made it hard even to install firefox -- kept telling me that Windows wouldn't allow it. Hah! Well now I just downloaded it onto a pen drive from my son's laptop and installed it in about 3 minutes flat.
I am now going to stick post it notes on all our computers saying DON'T DOWNLOAD IE8.
Thanks for all your thoughts guys, and for sharing the frustration...
