I agree - everyone hates adverts. Why would I voluntarily sign up for them? If this doesn't work i shall uninstall RealPlayer completely.

The only reason to get RealPlayer nowadays is applications that check for RealPlayer rather than the codecs (Free Internet TV -- which is neither Free, nor TV, btw -- for example).

For just playing the files, RealAlternative works better.

Or get RealAlternative, a free, opensource, non-annoying Real Player alternative.
